London Underground
& Flash Fiction project

TubeFlash – Tales from the Underground – is a unique interactive network of flash fiction stories inspired by the London Underground. The project was conceived by short story and flash fiction author, advocate and campaigner Joanna Sterling.

The site invites a variety of ways to "travel" the network, allowing visitors to select stories by genre, mood, station or author, or via a fully navigable and responsively designed Tube map. The website powered a TubeFlash podcast which in 2015 rode the top of the iTunes charts for fiction when the project became part of the BBC Get Creative initiative.
